Concept and illustration for an advent calendar, to be produced for a church in Birmingham.
The children are completely engrossed in playing together with a home-made Nativity scene, while the grown-ups welcome the guests and get things ready for the big day.
At home, we have a Playmobil Nativity set that comes out at Christmas time. It always amused me that my daughter would play with it, moving all the people and animals around, where I had always been content just to observe it without getting involved!

Behind the door for each day of advent, there will be a chocolate and a QR code linking to a video on the church's website. The illustration is modular, so parts of it can be extracted and used as video graphics.
